Full patch notes for v2.6 of Judgement: Eternal Champions
Announcement
HoEC is the source of truth for all rules of the game. Specifically, the text on HoEC is the source of truth, not the cards hosted on HoEC or anywhere else. If there is any doubt or discrepancy between cards and the text on HoEC, the text on HoEC is the ruling. This will be upheld during tournaments, regardless of the discrepancy.

Common Abilities
Centre Shrine
One hero can buy/swap/sell artefacts only, regardless of how many heroes claimed it.
Communion Phase
Future proofing Tokens that are applied to an Effigy
When Effigies regenerate their health at the start of the Communion phase, this counts as the Effigy activating. As a result, Tokens that expire at the start of a model’s activation are removed.
Eldritch Intellect
New ability added to represent a Warlock's innate resistance to Psionic attacks
This model gains +2 SH when resolving a Basic Attack against it from a model with Psionic.
Monster Spawn Randomisation
Added the Monster Spawning rules to the rulebook
- Put all the monsters into a pool from the tiers the pit names.
- Randomise between those monsters.
Shadow Mist
Clarified what happens when two Shadow Mist heroes can generate mist
Each time an enemy model, while within 2 hexes of this model, takes 1 or more damage from a friendly Hero model’s Basic Attacks, this model gains 1 Shadow Mist Counter. A model cannot have more than 2 plus their current level Shadow Mist Counters attached to them at any time.
If two models on the same Warband would generate Shadow Mist from the same attack, the active player must choose one that generates Shadow Mist. The other model does not.
Steadfast
Clarified that only enemy manoeuvres require an additional (S)
Combat Manoeuvres from enemy models that try to Push this model requires an additional (S).
Stealth
Re-write to make it clear and future-proof
This model cannot be targeted by enemy models more than 2 hexes away other than when being charged.
Try Again
Updated definition on page 36 to include Summoned. Removed duplicate definition from page 42.
Any dice roll in the game (except for Monster and Summoned attacks) can be re-rolled using this action. You may only re-roll once, and you must re-roll the entire pool of dice.

Duplicate Self, Honour, Mortal Wounds and Short Legs added to the rule book
Effigy Decay
At the start of Round 5 (for 3s) and 6 (for 5s) both Effigies decay and their base health is reduced. This occurs at Step 1: Start of the Communion Phase, after Effigy Regeneration.
3v3
- Starting on round 5: Effigies lose 3 health from their base health.
- Base health: 13
- At the end of round 5 if the game hasn’t ended tie breakers come into play.
5v5
- Starting round 6: Effigies lose a 3 health from their base health.
- Base Health: 17
- At the end of round 6 if the game hasn’t ended tie breakers come into play.
Tie Breakers
- 1st tie breaker: Number of Souls currently held by each player
- 2nd tie breaker: Current damage inflicted to Effigies.
- 3rd tie breaker: Most levels gained
- 4th tie breaker: The warband currently suffering the least amount of damage (damage missing from their hero’s maximum health at this point in time).
- 5th tie breaker: The player who captured the first Soul of the game.
New Heroes
Gonsoku - Chimera Monkey King
- Enhanced Halo can no longer affect friendly Defender models.
Lyra - Minotaur Warlock
- Gains Eldritch Intellect.
- Lyra can summon a Demon via Demon Master the activation she gained level 3.
Zendala
- Removed SH from Take Down options.
- Gains Shadow Heal.
- Predator updated so she cannot use it against a model she was already engaging.
Shadow Heal (1AP) - Destroy adjacent Shadow Orb to heal, for 3 health, a friendly Summoned Shadow Hound within 2 hexes.
Predator (1AP) - [Active] While Zendala has Stealth, she can be Placed within her current MOV into a different unoccupied hex. Zendala immediately loses Stealth and can make a Basic Attack against an enemy model that was not in her melee range before the Predator placement. Zendala gains +1 to her attack dice pool after all other modifiers.
Existing Hero Revisions
Abhothas
- Add “this activation” at the end of the first sentence in Abhothas’ Consume Spirit.
Consume Spirit (1AP) - [Active] Target a Coalesce Icon within 2 hexes that was not placed by Abhothas using Abyssal Split or Abyssal Portal this activation. Enemy Hero models within 3 hexes of the Coalesce Icon suffer 1 True Damage and the curse condition. Abhothas heals the amount of damage dealt via Consume Spirit. Remove the Coalesce Icon.
Asbrand
- Home Bound range reduced from 2 hexes to adjacent.
- Home Bound can no longer target friendly Defender models.
Home Bound (1AP+1F) - [Active] Target non-Defender friendly model adjacent to Asbrand is placed adjacent to their Effigy and outside of their deployment zone.
Bastian
- Sword and Magic Blast attacks damage grid increased to 2/3/4.
- Magic Blast attack Reach increased to 4.
Carva
- Gains Point Blank.
- Add Honour to his card.
- Blink updated so it cannot proc against adjacent targets.
Avatar Bonus Updated
If Carva is the Avatar, while friendly non-Defender Hero models are within 2 hexes of Carva they gain Chameleon. Carva’s Blink combat manoeuvre cost is permanently changed to 2(S) or 1(J).
Grael
- Knife attack damage reduced to 1/2/3 from 1/2/4.
Jaegar
- Retiarius cost reduced from (1AP+1F) to (1AP or 1F).
- Gains Bounty Hunter.
Bounty Hunter - [Innate] When Jaegar deals the killing blow on a monster or summons he can collect the bounty even if he is not adjacent to them.
Kain
- Soul Harvest increased to 5.
Naias
- Shadowmeld cost changed to 1AP or 1F.
- Seduce cost changed to 1AP or 1F.
- Restore cost changed to 1AP or 1F.
- Rejuvenate cost changed to 1AP or 1F.
- Hypnotise cost changed to 1AP or 1F.
Ramona
- Can no longer make Parting Blows when in Gaseous Form.
Gaseous Form (1AP or 1F) - [Active] Ramona gains Incorporeal, Nimble, +1 MOV, +1 AGI and Regeneration(2). Ramona gains +1 Regeneration per level gained. While Gaseous Form is in play, the only Action that Ramona can use is an Advance and she is unable to make Parting Blows. Expires at the start of Ramona's next activation.
Sharn
- Get Behind Me can no longer target Defender models.
Get Behind Me (1AP) - [Active] Target friendly non-Defender Hero model within 3 hexes can Advance up to 2 hexes towards Sharn. The target model gains Pathfinder and is Immune to Parting Blows during this advance.
Skye
- Dimension Warp can no longer target Defender models.
Dimension Warp - [Innate] When Skye attempts an Effigy Recall (before Skye is moved), target friendly non-Defender Hero model within 2 hexes can be chosen for Dimension Warp. If Skye's Effigy Recall succeeds, then the target of Dimension Warp can be placed adjacent to its Effigy.
Styx
- Soul Infused (level 2) provides +1 RES while Styx is carrying 1 or more Souls.
Soul Infused - [Innate] Styx gains +1 MEL, +1 RNG and +1 RES when he has one or more Souls bound to him. Styx's Psionic Blast Combat Manoeuvre gains 'If a (J) was rolled and the enemy was damaged, the targeted model incurs an additional 1 True Damage'. If Styx has 1 or more Souls bound to him, he gains +1 RES.
Svetlana
- Owl Mark changed so that Stealth cannot be applied to the hero while Owl Marked.
Owl Mark (1S) - [Manoeuvre] Enemy damaged by Owl Swoop Attack loses Stealth and friendly models gain +1 dice to their attack dice pool when targeting the model with RNG/MAG Basic Attacks. A model cannot gain Stealth while Owl Marked. Expires at the beginning of Svetlana's next activation.
Urvexis
- Bite (second sentence) Bite is a Basic Attack Reach 1 MEL weapon with damage grid 1/2/3. Bite Attack deals True Damage.
Bite - [Innate] After resolving a Mandible Attack that scored a critical hit, Urvexis may immediately make a Bite attack for (0AP). Bite is a Basic Attack Reach 1 MEL weapon with damage grid 1/2/3. Bite Attack deals True Damage.
Viktor
- Demon Link must be cast through a Demon that Viktor summoned.
- Gains Eldritch Intellect.
Lvl 2: Demon Link - [Innate] Viktor’s Eldritch Blast Attack, Banishment and Hex can be executed through a Demon - Warlock Familiar summoned by Viktor that is within 5 hexes of him, as the point of origin. The range for each ability is measured from the demon. LoS can be measured either from Viktor or the demon. Viktor cannot use Eldritch Blast Attack via Demon Link if the demon is engaged by an enemy.
Xyvera
- Unholy Harvest damage is now rounded up.
Unholy Harvest (1AP) - [Active] Target friendly model within 5 hexes, not suffering curse, is dealt 1/3 their max base health (rounded up) in True Damage. Xyvera can immediately attempt to Soul Harvest a Soul adjacent to the friendly model for no additional cost.
Yorgawth
- Critical Strike can no longer be used to target Effigies.
Critical Strike (1F) - [Active] For this activation, Giant Mace Attack resolves Solid Blows as Critical Blows. Critical Strike does not apply to attacks generated from Momentum. Yorgawth cannot target the enemy Effigy if he has Critical Strike in play.
Zaffen
- Giant Crossbow Attack Crit increased from 5 to 6.

- Steadfast clarified so only enemy manoeuvres require an additional (S).

Evolve: Friendly Heroes can immediately use Demonic Gateway for (0 AP) and, for this round only, gain +1 to one of their stats based on their demon sub-type.

Sacred Artefact
Amulet of Belaal: Damage component doesn’t work on 0AP attacks.

Mithril: The RES of friendly Heroes cannot be reduced below 1, except by True Damage. Friendly Heroes gain Natural Sprinter and Short Legs. (This model can move +1 additional hex for each Advance during the first round of the game.)(This model does not benefit from Dash in the first round of the game.)
Effigy Power
Granite: Gain +1 RES. Immune to throw, knock down, and cannot be pushed by any means. Expires at the end of this round.
Minotaurs
Effigy Power
Invigorate: Friendly Heroes immediately remove all conditions and Heal the value of their Regeneration ability. Friendly Heroes gain Immune (all conditions) for this round.
